Relevance is no longer accumulated by pages, <strong>but by defined, delimited, and reusable entities.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"11_Why_the_document_is_no_longer_the_relevant_unit\"><\/span>1.1 Why the document is no longer the relevant unit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The document is designed for human reading. Its meaning depends on: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>editorial order<\/li>\n<li>cumulative context<\/li>\n<li>narrative<\/li>\n<li>layout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These properties <strong>do not survive<\/strong> the way generative systems operate: fragmentation, abstraction, and reuse by parts.<\/p>\n<p>As a result:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the document does not preserve identity outside its form<\/li>\n<li>does not accumulate operating recurrence<\/li>\n<li>cannot be reused as a stable unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Document-based relevance presupposes sequential reading. When the content is abstracted, the layout and order cease to function and the document loses coherence as a unit. <\/p>\n<p>A generative system does not inherit the logic of the document. Operational definition of semantic entity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The transfer of the document to the entity requires a precise definition. Without an operational definition, &#8220;entity&#8221; becomes a vague term and loses value as a unit of the system. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"31_Minimum_criteria_for_an_entity\"><\/span>3.1 Minimum criteria for an entity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In the Shymow framework, a <strong>semantic entity<\/strong> meets at least the following conditions: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>can be named consistently<\/li>\n<li>has an explicit definition<\/li>\n<li>keeps identity separate from any specific document<\/li>\n<li>is reusable without loss of intent<\/li>\n<li>can be related to other entities<\/li>\n<li>has clear application limits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An entity is not a piece of content. It is a <strong>stable semantic unit<\/strong> that can exist independently of its presentation. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"32_What_is_NOT_an_entity\"><\/span>3.2 What is NOT an entity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The following are not valid entities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>documents or web pages<\/li>\n<li>claims de marketing<\/li>\n<li>generic categories without delimitation<\/li>\n<li>trends without operational definition<\/li>\n<li>tags created for editorial grouping<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If something needs narrative, external context, or metaphors to be explained, <strong>it is not a governable entity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This exclusion is not theoretical. It is a necessary condition to avoid ambiguity and semantic collision. <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"33_Stable_identity_versus_variable_presentation\"><\/span>3.3 Stable identity versus variable presentation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>An entity retains its identity even if it changes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the format<\/li>\n<li>the document containing it<\/li>\n<li>the order of exposure<\/li>\n<li>the editorial context<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The presentation may vary. The identity does not. <\/p>\n<p>This separation allows the system to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>recognize the entity in different contexts<\/li>\n<li>accumulate semantic recurrence<\/li>\n<li>reuse knowledge without rebuilding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The entity does not replace the document. Relevance is no longer accumulated through documentary exposure, but through <strong>semantic persistence.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"41_Independent_relevance_of_the_document\"><\/span>4.1 Independent relevance of the document<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>An entity can be relevant <strong>without depending on a specific document.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This occurs when:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>its definition is stable<\/li>\n<li>its limits are clear<\/li>\n<li>its use is consistent over time<\/li>\n<li>can be recognized in multiple contexts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Relevance does not lie in &#8220;where it is published,&#8221; but in what is recognized.
